Here we are in the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is spring time, the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and finally it rained hard enough to take some of the thick pollen out of circulation. It has been absolutely gorgeous North Carolina spring weather so I decided to get out for a walk to enjoy this beautiful community. Armed with my iPhone, I stopped whenever something caught my eye. My walk was punctuated by clicks as I madly snapped pictures of the gorgeous scenery. Next thing I knew, I had an entire folder of pictures.
Because of this whole stay at home situation, I have gotten comfortable with Zoom and Google Hangouts, but thus far have yet to make a foray into video (of me anyway). The software Animoto is easy to use though, and I really wanted to make a pretty video of this beautiful area. Baby steps toward actual video I suppose, but I get a lot of satisfaction out of seeing things come together. As I was thinking about this new video project, I really wanted music to go with it. Mr. Rogers’ “Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” seemed perfect. I found a piano piece on YouTube of the song and wrote to the piano player. People can be awesome, but Chelsea Comeau wrote me back and gave me permission to play it. How cool is that! Thank you Chelsea!
This was fun to make, mostly because I really love this area so much. I hope you enjoy it too.
